A subdomain is a web address, that is under a main, or a root domain name. An example is something.domain.com, in which domain.com is the main domain name, while "something" is the subdomain below it. Every single subdomain can have its own website and records i.e. aside from using the domain name as part of the whole web address, a subdomain can be totally independent and also hosted by a separate service provider. Using a subdomain can be quite beneficial if you'd like to have different web sites which are connected in some way. For instance, you may have an online store under the main domain along with a forum under a subdomain so as to provide means for your customers to ask questions and / or share experiences concerning your products. The main advantage of using a subdomain instead of a subfolder is that the websites will be separated, so you can update one of them or perform maintenance without affecting the other.

Subdomains in Shared Hosting

Our shared hosting plans will permit you to create countless subdomains for any domain address hosted in your account without any difficulty. Provided that the main domain name is added, it will take 2 clicks to set up a subdomain and choose what folder it'll open (if different from the default one), create unique error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and a lot more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for quick access and administration. By right-clicking on any of them and by using quick access buttons you can see the error logs, visitor statistics or website files for that specific subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the total number of subdomains that you can create with any of our plans, so you can have as many as you need.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Our Linux semi-dedicated hosting haven't got a restriction for the number of subdomains that you can create. Adding a new subdomain inside the account takes only a few mouse clicks within the Hepsia website hosting CP and in the process you can pick the folder the subdomain is going to access if it is going to be different from the default one, create custom-made error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions if you need them or create a dedicated IP address instead of the shared server one in case you have added such an upgrade to your semi-dedicated account. Once the subdomain is created, you will be able to access logs and visitor stats or easily jump to the site files for it in the File Manager section through quick access buttons. All subdomains you've got inside the account are going to be conveniently listed under their root domain, so you will be able to find and control any of them easily.
